Dr. Trudy Hall, University Specialty Hospital's medical director for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), was recently named winner of the Brain Injury Association of Maryland's Partnership for Independence Award in the "Advocate" category. This award recognizes people who have made contributions to improving the quality of life for individuals with brain injury.

Dr. Hall began as USH's TBI medical director in 2001, and has consistently sought to provide the highest quality of care possible. Her presence and participation on this unit have been invaluable. She has demonstrated exemplary dedication to her profession, USH and most importantly USH's patients.

In 2004 Dr. Hall helped to successfully lead the TBI team through a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) survey, where the surveyors noted that she was "unusually diligent in program development and modification that will better serve persons with brain injury in the Baltimore area (Yoder & Hamaty, 2004)."

Dr. Hall serves as the Commissioner for the Health Service and Cost Review Commission, is president of Maryland's National Medical Association, and is on the Brain Injury Advisory Board. She is a member of the Brain Injury Association of Maryland, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Society of Maryland. She is also a sought after speaker and very well respected in the medical community.
