- Breathing retraining, relaxation techniques and energy conservation
- Instruction on the proper use of medication
- Ways to avoid irritants
- Evaluation and instruction in oxygen therapy
- Nutrition instruction
- Social services including advanced directives
- Psychological services including anxiety and depression management
- Education for independent living and self care
- Home functional maintenance programs
- Referral for community services
