Medically Complex Care Program
University Specialty Hospital's medically complex care program is for those patients who require
long-term acute care with specialized nursing and therapy services. These patients
may be stable but have multi-system problems requiring specialized services.
Patients appropriate for admission to University Specialty Hospital may include those with the following conditions/diagnoses:
- Wound management/decubitus ulcers (bedsores)
- Infectious diseases
- TPN and nutritional management
- Post-surgical complications
- Catastrophic and/or multi-system disease
- Renal failure/dialysis
- Uncontrolled/complicated diabetes
